Student-Led Webinar - REGISTER HERE
Join us Wednesday, June 16, 10am-11am CST to see Chavez 3rd graders launch their activism website “Si Se Puede”. All are welcome! (If you’re streaming for a group (e.g. your students or colleagues) have one person register and you can share for viewers.) If you cannot join the live stream, register so you can receive a copy of the presentation, the recorded webinar, and a link to students’ website.
Closing the Urban Digital Divide
Join Illinois for Educational Equity (ILEE) and the national coalition pushing the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to raise the minimum broadband speed AND set up a fund for the digital equity divide for urban communities.
Action #1: Brief Survey Share your story (CLICK HERE!) The FCC needs to hear from students, parents, educators, and community members about your experience with internet access. We need adequate evidence (stories) from each city in the coalition!
Action #2: Sign the Petition to Comcast Read & sign here ILEE members sent a letter to Comcast representatives demanding they address issues re: financial barriers that prevent students and caregivers from getting/staying connecting. Express support for an equitable and transparent solution.
Make Indigenous People’s Day a Reality
Join the Indigenous Peoples’ Day Coalition to rally another 4 yes votes by June 23rd for changing Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples’ Day in Cook County.
Action #1: Sign the Petition HERE Despite over 1,900 emails of support in the last four weeks, the votes are short. Help keep the pressure up!
Action #2: AMPLIFY - Share & Ask 5 friends to sign Facebook, Twitter, Instagram
